15. Januar 2010 Zet- Life Science Laboratory moves into a new Laboratory
MORE SPACE FOR RESEARCH
MORE SPACE FOR RESEARCH
The new laboratory- and office area supplies the facilities for intensified research for alternative and complementary methods to animal testing. The construction was supported by the government of Upper Austria and the foundation “Pollux”.
MAIN RESEARCH
In future, our research work will be focused on the development and culture of organ-like cell-culture. For example, models of liver and lung will be analyzed in particular for their capability to investigate toxicological and pharmacological long term effects.
About 800 animals lose their life in carcinogenicity- tests for a substance. A test, that takes many years and costs millions of Euros. The test system to be analysed should not only allow to reduce the number of animals tested but also to reduce the extensive costs associated.
WHAT WE WANT
Our long term objective is to establish the zet-Life-Science Laboratory as a national and international professional partner for the development, introduction and use of in-vitro-technology.
